What kind of joysticks are used ? And what is the diameter of the shaft ? The original Nintendo DK joysticks have black ball-tops.

Well i was in my mothers house after work, and did some things..

About the ball for Level42:

After i removed it , it looks like there is a crack  :(

the bottom has a metal part with threats, i think is Metric 8 mm.

you cannot read it from my tool, but the shaft is 8 mm.

the ball itself is 36 mm.

a close-up from one of the joysticks..

to take these pics , i removed the monitor..

Label says Sanyo..

on the bottom of the cab i find a loose wire.....  ???

Some pictures of the board set..

After taking a close look, i found one loose connector on the board, "P8" and guess what , the loose wire fits there
now i only need to find out where this wire needs to go  ???

Maybe to here ???  looks like a kind of "freeplay button" to me , but i dont know
also there is a disconnected potentiometer too there ??? maybe for the volume or something ?

Some more pictures of the board set..

and the back of the boardset..

Came across your trip. Looks like fun. Just woundering what you did to fix the monitor? I just picked up a DK cocktail and looks just like your screen.

Beware, after you "finished" your house (my experience is that if you own a house, it's never finished) your wife will have other things on here list.....

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I know its a old topic, but i just stumbled upon a video with exactly the same issue...
