Talk about childhood memories....

Check this out:

I'm old enough to remember these at our camping site when we went on holidays in Zeeland. Those sites had "arcades" with some of the games being already quite old.

This game is actually only one year younger than I am, so when I played those games they already were about 10 years old at least....

I prefer the one's with a bit more scenery as this one looks very "empty" but if I had money and space I'd seriously consider getting this.

OMG I just found a video of a Racing Game I used to play ALL the time then:

Man that bring back memories. I played this enough to learn the pattern and I could play endlessly. At least that's what I seem to remember ;D

That was always the problem with the EM games. They were very little "random". It was usually always a fixed "clock" or other mechanism that you could learn very easily. I love the cabs, artwork and the technology behind those machines though !

I'd be interested in stuff like that too if I had the space. I never saw any in person, though, only on the web. That space one looks cool.

The one place I used to go was an indoor fleamarket (car boot to some of you). It was one big building consisting of about 200 wooden booths. People would sell all sorts of stuff. Actually there were two different ones I used to go to. Both of them had a small arcade in the back. One of the places even sold video games. I remember they had a sit down Sinistar machine. I always used to play Rad Mobile. They had a sit down version with hydraulics in it. The whole vehicle tilted when you were driving on curves on the screen.

One of the fleamarkets had a booth that sold Atari 2600 games in the early 80's. I have very good memories, even pictures in my head, about going there and just seeing tons of games. Every inch was filled with games. If I was older back then I'd have been buying everything I could. If I knew what I know now I'd have bought a lot of the weirder stuff that might be worth more later on.

I don't think games today hold as much value or sentiment for many. There's just a small case and DVD inside. I love cartridges! Have something nice to hold.
