protecting the control panel???
« on: August 04, 2009, 10:27:31 AM »
hi there!

everyone around here knows about rusty control panels and what to do to remove the rust and make the panel new and shiny again: sand them down, apply anti-rust primer and then finish it off with the colour of your choice.

what i want to know is if you're applying anything ON TOP of the final colour to protect the panel, something like a matte clear coat.

what is your take on that?
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

I'm asking the same question. Like Ully, I would like to protect some parts from scratches...

Plastic overlay spray boys,

but be careful to avoid to use too much otherwise it would collapse the whole work,

I've got some bottles in the garage,

will see to let you know the exact name in case you have problems to find it

It is used most to avoid rust to arise again

could it be this? http://www2.westfalia.de/shops/verbrauchsmaterial/elektro_material/elektroinstallation/sprays/1252-teslanol_t7_uniplst_200ml_schutzlack_plastikspray.htm

however, from the description this doesn't sound as if it were the correct stuff!

WHERE'S MAV???

Believe me, you do NOT want to spray that over a CPO !!!!! That's meant for PCB's !!!

Something like this is more suitable I guess. This is used for finishing airbrush painting:
