I agree with you, if you talk about the official release of mame.

but according to this site it is as they state "finally woking" in a modified version of mame

I tried it , and it works indeed perfectly

That's  NOT what I mean. I mean that Jeff put a shitload of work in creating D2K and is not getting anything back from people who play it on MAME !

Imagine how many hours he must have put in creating this. Then he starts to sell the kits that can be played on the original DK PCB set. Of course (just a matter of time) there's some asshole that reads the ROMs and spreads them around.

What would YOU do if you see all your efforts down the drain like that ? No more of these projects. GAME OVER !

Look, I'm not against MAME and using the old roms. They earned their money years ago. And I _DON'T_ care about wether it's legal or not.

I _DO_ care about the MORAL issue of simply not paying anything for someone's hard work on a very special project like that. If he gets nothing back for it, we as the small community called arcade fans will not see many more (other) projects like this happening !

There's been a lot of discussion about it here:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=74719.0

I haven't played D2K yet because I will be ordering the kit for my DK PCB set and I don't want to spoil the fun running it on MAME already.

At least donate some money on Jeff's website ( http://www.jeffsromhack.com/products/d2k.htm ) if you play it on MAME so he will be motivated for.....D3K maybe. Or D2K jr. ?

I never said that if he is going to use it on mame, that he can do that without buying the romset (pay for the licence on other words) or without donating for the work of the person that made this.

you have a good point in my opinion,

my question was just if he was planning to use this "expansion"

D3K or D2Kjr will be cool !

Just something that has been haunting me since I've got my Nintendo cab:

Did you think about a rotating monitor ? That would open the game up to games such as MB and Popeye. Or will you simply build another one for the horizontal games ? :D

Do you think the CRT actually fits between the sides diagonally ? I think it should be a (very narrow) fit....

It's not a bad idea  8)

Should I try .... impossible for a rotating mechanism (no much room, I read your post on BYOAC )... but manually, tomorrow I'll try ...

everything's coming together perfectly. i for my part would have used a longer neon though. the marquee doesn't seem to be equally illuminated!

as for the paint job: are you using a brush / roller or a spray gun?
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

I respected (almost  :P) the original neon measures .... take a look:

Original neon:

Brush/roller
