PunkRockCaveman passed away
« on: February 25, 2024, 01:52:26 PM »
I'm very sorry to let you guys know that our good friend and fellow arcade collector Joerg "PunkRockCaveman" Stumpe passed away last Tuesday.

He suffered from cancer for a long time and finally lost the war.

I'm destroyed. He was one of the best in the scene. I don't think that anyone could say something bad about him.

Rest in peace, my friend! The world won't be the same without you!

This is a really sad new  :'(
I have very good memories with him during the various arcade meetings, especially at the 2014 Eurocade.
My condolences to his family and his friends.
RIP  :'(

Some months ago I learned through Thorsten that Joerg was terminally ill, and yesterday he informed me of his passing....:-[

I'm just speechless.

Last time we met was at Thorsten and Dirk's party in November 2019. I'm glad he still got to meet Petra.

Joerg was one of the nicest and smartest guys in the scene, and outside that one of the nicest, funniest and smart guys I ever met in my life. Sometimes you meet people and you just have "that click". I am honored to have known him.

Thinking of Grit......

This picture will always be in my heart and mind. Of course we all knew Joerg with his legendary black hat. To "fuel the German/Netherlands" football rivalry a bit we thought it was funny to present him a replacement for his black hat....such a funny moment...

You're released from this terrible illness now Joerg. We'll miss you and I'll never forget our great beers together outside any arcade party and talking about the really important things aside of the games....

Just got back from the funeral. Acdc, mot?rhead and Tool was played in the graveyard church. It was hard. The priest mentioned his helping hand, his great Charakter and his hobbies. The Organisation of the eurocade in Oldenburg was also a topic. I remember how proud he was about this. I know J?rg almost about 30 years now. It is still unbelievable. I will point Grit on this thread.

Oh dear....I didn't realize the funeral hadn't been already. In The Netherlands the funeral has to take place within 6 working days after the death by law so I thought it had been already.

It's still ringing in my mind and somehow can't accept the fact that he's not with us anymore....

Grit sent me this picture with Joerg, Dirk and me. It was taken on one of the Eurocades in Hilversum.

Still can't believe that such a great guy had to suffer and die.
