The Philadelphia Experiment
« on: February 25, 2017, 10:50:06 PM »
Hah.....was watching an old movie again.....The Philadelphia Experiment.

I didn't remember much about the movie except for the main story line.

Was pleasantly surprised to see a scene where the two guys from the marine ship in 1943 have just been warped to 1984 and enter some gasstation/diner and there's a Battlezone and Lunar Lander there :) The machines actually play a "part" in the film as one of the guys gets (falsely) accused of "ruining" the machines with some electric sparks coming from his hand....

Here's two screenshots :)

It's pretty funny....the place is desolate so,  "old fashioned"..... The movie is from 1984 so LL and BZ were already very old games by then....

LOL....another nice reference.....

Look at what this top-secret experimental US military 1984 base uses as computers.....

The one in the back I recognized as an Osborne but it looked more modern than the one I did my first hobby computing on (at school) back in the stone-ages :)

Some Googling later I knew it was this one: http://vintagecomputer.com/osborne-occ-2-executive.html

But the funniest is that ......Commodore 64  ;D ;D ;D (or is it a VIC-20 ?)

Seen the movie 1 or 2 times, but it was before I got into this hobby.
Never noticed the games in it :D - maybe I should see it one more time :)
