Cleaning arcade card board
« on: October 30, 2016, 07:38:45 PM »
Hi!
As many 70s arcade cabinets, my newly bought Road Runner has cardboard cutouts for backgrounds. As the cabinet has probably stood in a warehouse for several years it's both dusty and filthy.

The cardboard is pretty difficult to replace which is why I'm asking you for some advice as how to clean it in the best. What methods can you recommend?

Thanks in advance

I used a sponge which was just a -little- bit moist...with a bit of liquid soap (for dishes).

Make sure you only use that on the "picture" side and dry it right after....

But first use a soft brush and keep the vacuum cleaner closeby

I use isopropyl alcohol.
Check this http://www.instructables.com/id/Cleaning-up-your-PCB/

I do that too on PCB's, but on cardboard i reccomend the same as Andre suggests.
although, if there is no print on it (like in some cases with zaccs) i first try the vacuum cleaner with brush mouth piece

I tried a micro fiber cloth with simple green & it seemed to work ok :)
Will try your other tips as well!
