Yes you can connect it as command translator.
Sony is already implemented.
I'm going to finish it in next 2 months.

Remember the raspberry is used instead of laserdisc.
We connect the dl and sa pcb directly to raspberry via serial port

Do you have a list of hardware this is compatible with please?

I'm wondering if it would work with a SONY LDP-1500P, without any additional hardware (i.e. Laser Ace Conversion Card)

If it does, I would be very interested in this also :-)

You want to use it as command translator from Philips to Sony and keep laserdisc inside your cab?
Which lasergames are you planning to play?

Yes I was hoping to use the SONY LDP-1500P, but instead of using the Laser Ace Card, use the Pi to deal with the commands

Games are likely to be Dragons Lair 1, 2 or Space Ace

You can use 1500p only with PAL discs.
So no dl2.
Which hardware do you have?

This video is taken using original hardware connected to a raspberry 1 that is working as laserdisc player replacement.
My video is Mpeg2@10mbits.
Next test will be with uncompressed video and space ace
