In order to help Superully on his Pleiads restoration (see here) and also the Arcade community, here's the scan of the front artwork.
Because it's an entire job to do, I prefer to open a dedicated post for that.

So here we go  Wink

The idea is to reproduce this front artwork :

I've just found back my old AGFA scanner. On location  arrow

Let's go... in action  Tongue  arrow

.tif output

300 dpi

Here's the result : 3 huge files (26144 Ko each).

File 1

(right click on picture, than save... for the full size version)

File 2

(right click on picture, than save... for the full size version)

File 3

(right click on picture, than save... for the full size version)

(Note that the three 'preview' pictures have been 180 rotated for this post)

TO DO LIST :

- Re-assemble the pictures
- Make a vector file

Who'll be THE man to success this  Wink

incredible job, bruno! you're the man  Space Ace THX SO MUCH

i can try stitching the pictures together, but i have NO IDEA how to vectorize a graphics file LET ALONE remove / edit the damaged areas within a vector file.

how about asking the guy from france who has already vectorized / edited the control panel overlay?

Well done Bruno!!!! Where is the clapping smilee..... <clap> <clap>

Vecotrising that will be a big job, there is a hellava lot of detail in that picture......

Hmmm, you know that Rolling Thunder CPO is different on your one to mine, with the extra detail..... Ermm.... How difficult would that be to scan?

Well, Nickos69 who done the CPO is taking a break regarding the Arcade scene. I hope we'll be back with us soon.  Kiss

Not easy I would say  shock Because of the panel curves/size. Not easy to fix the scanner for doing the job.
In addition, it would require to remove everything on the control panel, and maybe the control panel itself  Undecided

Superully gives me the final picture. he has stitched and color-corrected the three files together. Here's the result :

done! after MANY painstaking hours i'm DONE (literally) - 100 %  Space Ace

i've just sent bruno the link to the 42 mb tiff-file AND the converted-to-pdf-file which i'm sure he will be hosting on his server for everyone to pick up easily.

@dexter: would it be a lot of work to convert this into vectors? if that's the case i'd say: forget about it. i guess the pdf will suffice for printing, don't you think? i'm not an expert in that, so i'd be interested in your thoughts on that ...

@dexter: which program are you using to vectorize a tiff-file? as i've said before: i've never done something like that and have NO IDEA how to do it. is that an easy thing to do / learn or do you have to be a master in editing? i'm sure bruno will be putting up the 42 mb tiff-file soon and then you can judge for yourself whether this can be done quickly or not.

and IF you really have some spare time at the weekend, why not climb into some packing cases and look for the peter packrat stuff  Grin

thx a lot, your work and time spent is appreciated!!!

bruno, the version available above is the one that i stitched together and colour-corrected from yout three photos, but it has NOT been enhanced. i've been working on doing that for the last couple of days and i've sent you the download link for the enhanced version yesterday. you can now exchange the non-enhanced version above with the enhanced version. i've also sent you the pdf-file (about 3 MB) which i created from the tiff-file. THIS you can also put up.

thx a lot, this should be available for everyone who wants and / or needs it!

And here's the enhanced version, done by Ully  arrow

Amazing version, congratulation Shocked  Kiss

Feel free to download the full .tif version here (42MB), or the .pdf version right here (2.5MB).

That enhanced is version is so good, that I'm wondering if you really need to make a vector file for this one? Anyway, the files are available now  Wink

thx, bruno! it REALLY was painstaking, i was about to give up at some point or the other, but stayed with it to the end. this is - for sure - going to look great once it's printed and "installed" on the front! all this would however have not been possible without your wonderful scans, so once again: thank YOU!!!  Kiss

Downloading now, will have a look at it and see if it does need to be vectored  Grin

Great job by the way
