Hey dude, I've heard you can bypass it.  Do you have any info on doing this please?

:)

Sure....just solder each and every wire of the connectors together that have the same colors :)

Strip, twist, solder, isolate with heat-shrink.

The way I figured out how to do it was lay down the harnesses (the main harness and the PCB harness) and see where all connectors on the boards go.

Here's how it looks now.....not a very good pic I'm afraid.....

These are the connectors that will not be causing any trouble anymore:

There's one more, the one going to the monitor but I had to connect a brand new ready made monitor cable to that.

Thanks.  This is really useful.  So you have literally removed the entire filter and joined all the input and output wires of the filter together.

I did notice that the missing connectors are A8-J14, and A8-J7.  Off the top of my head I think they are something to do wth the RGB, sync etc for the monitor

Exactly. it saves a lot of potential problems and....The first machines didnt have the filter board so If you worry about originality you're still OK ;);)

Its really worth The time, its not that much work and If you go wire by wire its almost impossible to make a mistake.

Yeah as mentioned I think The only one left out on the picture is the one for the video.

If you look at The schematics its also clear what needs to be done.

Yea it seems like the way to go.  My line filter has previously got a bit burnt when with a previous owner and they have done a complete bodge of fixing it:
