Star Wars no sound urgent help needed
« on: November 14, 2016, 12:22:01 PM »
Have to take my Star Wars and ESB cabinet to a huge exhibition on friday, so I really need help.
I have 2 Star Wars cab, one with the ESB kit pcb.
The sound is gone on the ESB one, tried to replace the top sound board from the other pcb, but it also stopped working, so I have 2 pcbs without sound.
Swapped the AR II boards and nothing changed, so the problem has to be on the top sound pcb.
Checked all forums and youtube videos, but didnt find anything that 100% useful.
Checked the voltages on the test points on the pcb, +12V,-5V and +5V is ok.
Also tried the 2 test points on this video where you can hear all the sounds in a row, but no sound at all.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WHG5dI0YB0
Test mode shows this in the ESB pcb, on the other, there is no sound test menu, it disappeard.

Any help would be appreciated.

Meanwhile I tested the AR2 test points again, there are 2 points where has to be +36V, here is only 0,26V.
Any ideas?

Thanks Etienne, I did it wrong, the +36 VAC is ok.
The organizers took the cabs today to the exhibition, they will play without sound, which is a shame. :'(

I swapped the 2 AR-II pcbs between the cabs, still no sound, the voltages are all present on test points.
There is a guy at the exhibition, who might repair it, fingers crossed.
