Here comes a new challenger :)
« on: November 10, 2014, 01:40:16 PM »
Hi everybody, thank you for letting me in !

I've been an arcade lover ever since, even been an arcade addict in my teens, i think :)
I spent my golden years with arcades in La Rochelle (French seaside town blessed with up to 6 arcades at once, at some point), Paris (fondest memories of the arcade heaven in Pigalle, even prototypes there!!), and also London, for just one week on an arcade trip in 1990, but what a trip !!

I've also been an arcade collector for approx 20 years, albeit a small collector, when i see your collections and road trips on the site 0_0

So i "only" own about 20 PCBs, 2 superguns, and also one MNS 25 cabinet, which i have not been able to store at home yet.
(So i left it in Paris with my friends of the MO5.com preservation association)
I also collect goodies (BGM CDs, a few flyers, toys... with an emphasis on Xevious and Toaplan) but i miss storage space now for my many collections.

A few years ago, i moved to the south of France, near Nice, here i met with someone who, i guess, is certainly an active member of this forum.... is the JR's in the place? :)

Just a few days ago, i came accross Dragon's Lair Fans facebook page (Photographs from "L'Automatique"!! In my teens i would have sold my family to grab an issue or two!!), so i discovered the site and here i am :)

Congratulations everyone for your efforts, passion and collections!

Thanks again for letting me join the community !

Psychic 5 is one of the 3 games i loved Jaleco for, at the times, along with P47 and Valtric :)

(later on, I learned that Valtric was actually an NMK dev, but still...)

A bootleg is still ok to me, as long as it doesn't come with changes in gameplay.
I would be totally unable to repair my boards... one on the reasons why i stopped collecting...

Merci ! Eh oui, nous sommes assez nombreux finalement ! La France est bien représentée sur VAPS.org, par exemple !

Quite amazing to see how arcade survives thanks to the passion and dedication of a few collectors!

Looking for Dragons Lair 1 or 2, Space Ace, Double Dragon, Robotron and yeah... a Shinobi would be cool, too!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome !

I try to attach a photo to this message. If it goes right, then you'll see 4 shots from a PCB testing session in Nice. The cabinet and the pinball/flipper are not mine, only the 2 superguns (top left from Raven Games London, bottom right is a Combo AV).

The first one needs power supply replacement, but the module seems to be of unusual size.
The Combo was working last time i've checked, but is untested as of recently.

The good news is, most of my boards worked alright, tho!

I had actually never seen my boards running on proper cabinets before :)

...yes! I knew it was a good idea, I mean scanning these old revues.... stay tuned... many many many more to come!  ;)

Definitely !!

It's really amazing, actually !

Amazing to see that i'm not the only one around still dreaming about all this, amazing to see that you were able to get a good number of them, and so on.

I keep checking your posts either here on facebook, there's amazing stuff.
Also i've seen a picture from the official D3-Bos presentation!! I had always been wondering if the machine actually saw the light of day.

I still have many questions about the device, could i open a topic about it on the forum to try and grab data??
