There's a cool picture of Archer  barefoot and with sunglasses next to his Computer Space in the latest Retro Gamer… you should do the same one :)

ok, inspection time! let's start with the bag of spare goodies i got. inside are ...

(1) a NOS power supply

(2) a NOS coin return cup (which in the meantime i have installed because the old one had some minor rust issues)

(3) a few small parts

(4) an original manual ...

... including foldout schematics

when i opened the back of the cabinet i was somewhat disappointed, because some hacking jobs have been done to the original setup, e.g. a modern speaker plus corresponding pcb have been installed

and so has a switching power supply

the hacking job to the wiring hasn't been done nicely, pretty crappy job i would say, but as long as it's working i won't try to change it!

on the positive side the original pcb is present (and working) and on it you can nicely see the layout of the spaceships

the tv - also slightly hacked :(

technology from another time and space ;)

time for the money shots :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:

the control panel viewed from the inside

some shots in the dark

a long time agao in a galaxy far far away ...

there are still a few things to do like changing some bulbs, fixing the monitor surround (the old tape has come loose and therefore light is shining through directly onto the tv) and adjusting the television. speaking of which, it takes quite a while to produce a picture which is somewhat wobbly, dark and slightly distorted meaning it couldn't hurt trying to work on it somehow, but the technology used is way beyond what i can fix myself. i might have to ask someone (WINNIE ;D) to have a look at it!

but for now, apart from the hacking mess, i'm still totally in love with the cabinet :-*
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

Condition of the cabinet is simply amazing!!   :o
Wish mine would be half as nice as this one, wow!

as for the pcb, isn't it supposed to look like this:

http://www.arcade-museum.com/images/124/1240271661.jpg

or am I totally overlooking something?

and the other thing I noticed: the lights in the control panel appear rather light, as if the bulbs are burning too bright or something?

cheers,
Marco

as for the pcb, isn't it supposed to look like this:

don't know marco, just took another picture and there are definitely only three pcbs included. not sure if this is another revision or perhaps it has to do with the hacking. here's the pic

and the other thing I noticed: the lights in the control panel appear rather light, as if the bulbs are burning too bright or something?

the lights for the instruction / gameplay marquee definitely are too bright, i don't have any 755 bulbs here unfortunately. will order some! as for the control panel i haven't checked, but i'm pretty sure those are the original ones, doesn't look too bright when the machine is on. could only be a picture thing ...

ah! Looking at your pictures, I thought there was just one - my mistake!
I have three pcbs in mine as well.

Very clean machine Ully!

Just a warning about the monitor: not sure if that's how it comes from the factory, but the high voltage cup is completely missing! Keep your hands (and head) far from the anode (the metal part coming from the EAT)when turned on!
