Help needed - starblade w graphics problems
« on: July 18, 2014, 07:19:22 PM »
Hi all,

Being an arcade lover all my life I decided to buy my first cab; an amazing 1991 namco Starblade.

Unfortunately after transport it has major graphics issues that I don't know how to fix  ???

Parts of the game work fine, but most parts give no or a distorted image. It seems like all 'video' like when you start the game, works perfect. But when the actual game begins it starts dropping the image.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? I will be forever greatfull to the person that can help me fix it. (And I'll buy you beer at eurocade  :pac: )

Here's a link to video I recorded while playing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXh9jcvfmqg

Please note that I have installed a gonbes VGA converter and that in the video I'm just using a plain PC LCD monitor for the time being.

Best,

J

No, you just wanted the free beer.  ;D ;D

But I truly deserve it: That is all just shit the Gonbes produces my friend. It's syncing problems. The Gonbes does a digital conversion of the signal and it just can't cope with the signal clearly. (too much moving I guess...)

Get a real monitor or a TV with SCART.

Thanks guys!

Any idea where I can find a monitor/TV that accepts 9 pin RGB?

I found that if I leave the machine running for about two hours the problems get less...(and the plot thickens)
Are you sure it's the Gonbes and not something in the machine itself?
