There I was thinking that such Chiptune DJs (or whatever they wish to be called ;)) would use all kind of cool instruments like hacked SID's, POKEY's etc. or maybe even the machines themselves or whatever at least with a shit load of hardware and looking really cool.....maybe even something like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kDhpFaf4EY

I wasn't there for very long..............I prefer loud chewy 80s music :D

I was having a talk with ysbrand (the chiptuneguy with the DS and the led's on his hat) and he told me he had build a device with 8 SID chips to have 4 channel stereo sound, only he did not bring it unfortunately, i would have loved to hear the good old SID sounds !

This one just struck me....THAT was the feeling I remember from my first arcade experiences.....for a small kid, such a machine is totally impressing because of size and steering wheel etc.
Look how she's "on her toes" to see over the steering wheel....love that :)

Kids also let their imagination do a lot of work.....I noticed that (again) while I swapped out a PCB set on the SW cockpit and of course the game was off, but this kid inside didn't seem to mind it that much......he was just making his own X-wing noises and and pretending to fly steering the yoke......loved that as that was what we did as kids whenever we were at arcades without money or had just spend the last guilder of our allowance :)

that´s not a small kid.. it is Jochen Hippel!

oh wait... you are talking about the background, right?! ;)
Looking for Dragons Lair 1 or 2, Space Ace, Double Dragon, Robotron and yeah... a Shinobi would be cool, too!
