Dexter board for Galaxian 3?
« on: April 10, 2014, 11:24:33 PM »
Just wondering if anyone's tried the Dexter LD Emulator board in a Galaxian 3 cabinet? I've seen some people have had moderate success with Dexter running in games like Super Don Quix-ote and Mad Dog McCree, but it would be interesting to see if it works in a dual-screen setup where they have to run in perfect sync.

Of course, laser players and discs don't last forever so moving the footage to some kind of digital format is high priority if the remaining Galaxian Theaters want to keep running!

Well, not sure is the Pioneer LD-V8000 is compatible at this step of the Dexter development, but I would be glad to help them in any way to make it work with the Galaxian3 hardware.
But there's the sync singal to figure out between the 2 LD players...
Or maybe this could be solve if the Dexter setup would only run one 'virtual LD player', who could display the entire picture (Left & Right footage side by side)?
This trick (displaying one entire picture instead two pictures 'side by side') could be also used to emulate the game in mame...
