Good choice! Frogger is a "pure classic"

I prefer the original version... If you want less wood grain you can add a side-art on it ;)

Have You Played Atari Today ?

Besides that wood grain IS the 80's.
Don't you remember that everything was woodgrain back then? the sidewalks, your lunch sandwiches, the swimtrunks, etc...

Maybe in the US or Belgium but not in my country. Woodgrain was considered bad taste all over the place even in the 80s'. I still hate it. It is so fake.

@Atarimania: still too much woodgrain. PLUS I don't like the shape of the cab. Just MHO :)

Maybe the Italians overdid the artwork on the Zacc, but at least they TRIED :P

The ONLY thing I like about the US version is that tyre track. HOWEVER, instead of doing it properly they only did it partly. It should have gone over the woodgrain too of course. I mean, what the hell happened at the point between the CP and the kickplate ? Did the car suddenly take off there ? Or did it land from the sky there if you want to believe the track is running from the down-side up ??

In fact, it should have been all over the woodgrain so we wouldn't see the woodgrain ! :P

That's why I really like Ully's Frogger. It's the best mod to a cab I've ever seen IMHO.

Yeah, the Zacc looks much better and it would be really nice next to your Moon Crest. ;)

The truth is that it was originally designed to be a bartop machine.
The lower all woodgrain part was a last minute addition  ::)

To me the 80's are a lot about "fake" and "bad taste", that's why that cheesy woodgrain is iconic of this period.

Really ? They were very real for me  ;D

It's just that Sega/Gremin cabs seem to be designed with so little love. I mean, compare it to Atari's and Bally-Midways from the same era....all the cabs have the same (dull) shape and artwork is quickly and cheaply done...

O well no point in discussing taste  ;D ;D

Thanks Olly, but besides that it is way overpriced, I am really after this great looking woodgrain US version:

Although I do remember that I always hated woodgrain in those days, it is typically a sign of that time. But let´s not discuss taste and originallity in this WTB topic, I want the US version and that´s it.

"It is so fake."

The Ataris are real fake as they PRETEND not to be made from plywood. The Gremlin cabs don't, they SHOW what they are: A cheap box made to get your money :)

Defintion of fake: "Something that isn't real."

All arcade games are fake by definition. They are made out of plywood/wood!

Fancy graphics cover that up. Ugly woodgrain shows it somehow. So, whats more fake, a nice Atari cab or a ugly woodgrain Gremlin Frogger.
