Hello GermanCoasterBoy and welcome to the European side of the Lair  8)

In order to help you, we need the description of your setup of course  ;)

OK, I presume you have an Atari Dragon's Lair regarding the pictures on your website :

Your player is broken, that's it ?

...and now you've this picture when you plug the game ?

The only solution would be to repair the original Philips player (you're lucky, there are here the best specialists for that hardware), or make an interface like I did (see this post) in order to use other laser disc players like the sony, more easy to found and more reliable  8)

Just give us more details  ;)

I don't understand why do you need a 110V player.

Your main socket bring 220V at the beginning, so it's easy to hook a 220V player at this point for your player.

Can you put some pictures of the inside of your cab, in order to see exactly all the connection with the power supply ?

You have now three options in order to play Dragon's Lair again on your cab :

1-  Repair the original laser disc player (not easy, but some specialists here can do it  ;))

2 - Build the EuroDL Interface ...

... like I did on that post and you'll be able to use a laser disc player more reliable than the Philips one.

All the details about the Matteo's EuroDL interface on the DLP site, right here.

3 - Install & Configure the Daphne Emulator on your cab. See the Daphne emulator details right here.

You cannot use another LD player than the original Philips laser disc player on your Euro Dragon's Lair cab  :-\

But If you choose to build the EuroDL Interface, you'll be able to use one of these models :

- Philips VP380 (PAL / NTSC)
- Philips VP312 (PAL)
- Philips VP406 (PAL)
- Pioneer LD-V4300D (PAL / NTSC)
- Sony LDP-1550P (PAL)
- Sony LDP-3600D (PAL / NTSC)

Please check this page to understand.

Ebay is mostly the only way to buy laser disc players nowadays   :?

Fortunately for you, ebay Germany is a good place for finding them :P

Luck, perseverance... and patience is the key on this hobby  ;)

I wanted times, there are still questions only player to select or there are still others where you fit in?

As far as other LD players are not tested and validated , consider only these models compatible... BUT you need to build the EURODL converter in order to use one of these players.

I don't understand why do you need a 110V player.

The original Philips laserdisc player inside the machine runs at 110 V. The Atari power supply plug for the LD player has thus 110 V AC voltage output :

However it is not a big problem. You can always buy a euro LD player like a Sony LDP-3600D which can be switched to run at 110/120 V AC by means of a switch on the back of the player.

http://www.laserdiscarchive.co.uk/laserdisc_archive/sony/sony_ldp-3600/sony_ldp-3600.htm

See "Voltage selector" switch in the second picture, upper left corner.

Yes, check out these links as suggested by Bruno :

http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/tech/docs/eurodl.asp

http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/tech/docs/edlschack.asp

Other options are :

- come to visit me in Italy with your dead player and we'll see if it can be fixed
- bring your dead player to the next Euromeet and hope someone fixes it  :P
- watch eBay Germany and UK and wait for a Philips VP831 or VP835

http://www.laserdiscarchive.co.uk/laserdisc_archive/philips/philips_vp-835/philips_vp835.htm

http://www.laserdiscarchive.co.uk/laserdisc_archive/philips/philips_vlp-831/philips_vlp831.htm

Either one of these player will directly work in your machine only using the EuroDL HW adapter. You can build one as described on www.d-l-p.com

Good luck and please treat your Atari machine with care, otherwise...  :spaceace:
