Arcade Impossible - two dudes on a mission
« on: August 03, 2012, 06:34:05 PM »

just spotted this on the american forum: there are two guys trying to create a home arcade in their basement with 30+ games. nothing special so far (apart from the number of games), but those dudes are filming their roadtrips and editing them into funny (or not?) videos. two episodes have been released so far (galaga upright and asteroids cocktail), i've just subscribed to their youtube channel!

Nice videos!

For sure it takes a lot of time to edit those videos, so  :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:

I've done a video road trip in 2007, for my Battlezone. You can watch it in very low () quality on you tube right here.
Well, it was a first attempt. Not easy to do something entertaining and funny to watch  :-\
It would require at last three guys (on for the video camera all the time), if possible more than one camera for multiple angle view, a lot of chat between 'the actors' (because showing roads only may be very boring), able to re-shoot the same scene... and after that, a lot of time is required for video editing, special effects and transition in order to keep the video 'attracting'.
At the time, we were only me and my wife  :?
These two dudes are doing things well  :)

Thanks guys!

We hope to keep it going for as long as we can. Hopefully we can get the entire basement completely full.  :)
At 1 episode a month, we are looking at a few years at least.

Cheers.

oh my freakin' goodness - you guys outdid yourselves. this almost feels like watching a movie: love the editing, love the music and love your dedication. i almost peed my pants when you came out of that restroom again ... 8)

technical question: how did you do the aerial shots?

Thank you for the kind words! I really put a lot of work in to this episode, and I'm happy with how it turned out.

The aerial shots were done with a RC Quad copter.  I have test footage and you can see the actual unit we used in this video.
