Thanks Pieter, imagine how #3 will look  ::)  ;D

Okay, Bezel Time !
Made some plans to determine the points where to drill..

transfered the drilling points to the wood..

After drilling with the 32mm sawdrill, the radius is 16 mm, which translates to a radius of 32 mm in the real 1:1 cabinet.

some lines and its time for the jigsaw again..  8)

Perfect Cutout :P

Drilled the same holes in the CP after calculating them, and the pots fit..

Enough for today, later more  ::)

Was looking at your test video again and noticed the long connector of the mains on the back. You might be able to find a 90 degree version at one of your clients to save some space at the back ;)

Yeah, i had the same idea, it does come out pretty deep, but......

...

..

..

It has also a 12V connector which is at the same level as the signal input  ::) (deeper than the rear)

So i am planning to use the 12 volt connector, and just hook up an old adapter  :P

Made a little progress today, not much..
Started to glue the supports with my favorite construction glue:

The little helper was not so productive today, beside taking out some grass with the clawhammer  :o

And because there will be a vinyl bezel on the wood, i applied a thin layer of putty, so i will have a smooth surface.

And then came the boring part; Drying time...  8)

LOL !!!! Your son has your McGyver blood :):) OK, this is a futile try, but by thinking "out of the box" like this he will find inventive solutions like you do ;)

Also, good you have a couple of clamps ;);)

hehe, yeah, better safe than sorry, i just clamped all the clamps i had  ;D

Anyway, again the garden transformated into a working area today  :D

I had some very thick multiplex leftover, so i figured it is a perfect candidate for the bottom of the cabinet, it will give it a bit of a contraweight, which is nice i think , since the tv makes the cabinet a bit "topheavy"

Made the angle with the beltsander, with some 80 grid on it, that really eats the wood like a hungry child !  :o

After that i transfered the guidelines over to the second sidepanel, and made the supports for that side.

Again some clamps after glue-ing  ;D

Time to dry again  ;)

Hey Etienne, what clamps do you use to fix the belt sander upside down and are these supposed to be included with the machine ?

This "Gamma" machine has them included, and also a frame that goes around it (you can see that inside of the Toolbox)

I have never used these accessoires yet, so i cannot tell you how they function.

I was looking at a Bosch at first but compared with the times that i need it and the price, this was a better option at the time.

Hah.....I just bought a Bosch...

http://www.bosch-do-it.nl/boptocs2-nl/Doe-het-zelver/Gereedschappen/NL/nl/hw/Bandschuurmachines/95253/PBS+7+A/7577/3165140257862/index.htm

There was 25% off offer this week at Gamma so I figured....what the heck....

The only downside on this one is it doesn't have a variable speed. Do you change it a lot ? I thought it would be something like the variable power in a vacuum cleaner: you NEVER turn the power down ! But maybe I'm wrong in this case ?

Funny thing: the one I bought is made in Hungary (hello Béla !) but the model that has variable speed but is almost identical otherwise said Made in Holland" (WTFBBQ !!!). First of all amazing they actually still make something here but if the product is so similar, why not do it in one factory ? Or maybe the electronic one I saw was a bit older and they recently moved production ;)

Whatever....bought some clamps to fix it.

Maybe I should have gone for the Gamma one....Indeed it's not that I'm going to use it a lot, but on the other hand, I hate it when my tools are irritating me for some reason....not to say the Gamma would but I guess it's just a weird old feeling...

Actually I was thinking of buying a used one from Marktplaats first with the 25% off prices came pretty close and now I have 3 years warranty on this one....

I never turn the speed down, always full throttle   ;D

But be carefull, this type of sander is really powerfull, before you know it you are through the wood !

so use with caution, and do practice on a spare piece of wood..

oh, and this is a very good tip; secure your piece !:
