Zaccaria Dodgem
« on: April 19, 2012, 03:13:46 PM »
Maybe you remeber this topic, I found a nice and rare Zacc Dodgem last year.
Finally I found a pcb and replaced the non working TV with another one, now it works like a charm.

The wooden plate under the coin door was badly hacked, it was replaced and painted to it's original colour.

It is from 1979. ;D

happy for you that you got it working, BUT the (anal mode on) color of the plate that you replaced seems to be much brighter than the rest of the cab (anal mode off). was it like that originally?

PLUS are you sure that's not an atari 2600 running inside that cab? the screen resolution looks totally different from the arcade screenshots i know

all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

Hehehehehe, I was wondering who will be the one who spot it first. ;D ;D ;D

In fact the original Atari 2600 was replaced with a similar  bootleg chinese console, when I remove the Dodgem cartridge,  I can play about 100 Atrai games like Berzerk, Pitfall, Pacman, Pole Position, etc. :D
The start button was wired to P1 and the game selct button to P2 leaf switch, so I can easily choose or start a game.
I left the original psu and wiring in the cab, so if a miracle will happen and I can find a working dodgem pcb, I will be able to convert it back.

About the plate, I don't know if it is original, it was painted with the same colour when I found it. ???

I like the theme though, bumper cars and arcade games are a good combination, i used to enjoy both very much every year at our local fair..

Funny:
Today at ebay - there is the PCB

http://www.ebay.de/itm/ORIGINAL-ZACCAIRA-DODGEM-VIDEO-AUTOMAT-/270960054633?pt=Automaten&hash=item3f167a5169#ht_1614wt_922

Yes, the guy list it in every month since last summer, but the price is insane and he don't want to sell the pcb separately.(I can understand him.) :D
