Why don't people simply listen to me ?  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Transformers very rarely die. Only thing that could die on an Atari Power Brick is the diode bridge or the Big Blue. I have seen quite a couple of those Power Bricks now and all simply were still good :)

Rebuilding an AR-2 is a piece of cake and an excellent start to learn to work on electronics...... ;D

I know, it´s not that complicated, but......
All my stuff is in DK, and it´s very hard to solder/de-solder with your 37 degrees breath only....

I have a MC trackball (complete) but needs new bearings and rollers, if you decide you do not want a USB one  ;D

Andy.

Step down converter ? Why the hell do you need a step-down converter ??
