I work at Holland's largest road construction company (KWS Infra), as an estimator (dutch: calculator) for the concrete road construction division. In short: I sit at my computer 8 hours a day and make a lot of offers and estimates, variying from 2000 to 20 million euros.

An interesting mix of people, this. I work as a graphic designer/pre-print consultant at a publishing company. I do book covers, marketing material, webgraphics and set up books before we send them off to the printers. Oh, and I spent eight years and gazillions at university studying the history of philosophy just to realize that I wanted to do something completely different. I'm self taught at what I do now, and I had a really lucky break getting a job.

I am a web- and graphic designer for over 12 years now. So I work a lot with Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign and create code in HTML5 and CSS3. Nice creative job. But except for creating artwork and lots of time Googling, it's not of much use in this hobby. Learned the skills needed for this hobby by myself (and from guys like you).

Hi, just wanted to say that it is interesting to see the wide variety of fields that people work in that have 1 thing in common. I myself work as an equipment tech in a cleanroom for the National Institute for Nanotechnology in Canada where we are doing research on improving solar cells, hydrogen fuel cells, super batteries, printable electronics, etc - hey, it's a job.
