My new cab: Moon Patrol
« on: December 27, 2011, 09:48:48 AM »
Last week, during the uk road trip i made with ckong, i picked up a moon patrol. The cab was also owned one time by Archer Maclean who sold the cab empty, the new owner put in a original pcb, a nos monitor and a switching power supply. Here are some pictures:

Yeah nice one, I love Williams cabs. ;)
All you have to do is to make it to the end with one credit. ;D

Nice one. And although I think that the game is in great shape I am wondering if you are going to do some touching up on the side panels?

Yes, i think i'll tough it up, if that doesn't workout i might stencil the sides again.

wow, another moon patrol! if you had asked me two years ago i would have told you "you are nuts, there are no moon patrols in europe", but suddenly there are three alone owned by DLF members. congrats on that catch, pieter, a great addition. running MP on a switcher is the way to go, makes the game much more reliable.

btw, what do you think of the gameplay now, i've "heard" that you haven't been such a huge fan of it. but no matter what, MP is a kickass cabinet with fantastic artwork, this needs to be a keeper in your collection.
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

Yes, you were right, the game play (with lot's of variation) is also awesome.

Still don't understand the colors they used for the buggy and landscape, but after one round that gets a lot better, they should have made it red (or any other color) to begin with imo.

normally i can clear the beginner's course and then make it pretty far into championship's course, but of course there's also some luck involved and those rolling boulders on the second level are not easy (if you handle them the wrong way). not to mention the minefield on championship's course #2!

haven't been playing a lot MP lately though, those restorations are very time-consuming ;)

COngrats and I am happy I'll play it soon !!  ;D

I guess I will be screwing up a lot because I am used to the A8 version which requires you to push the joystick up to jump......going to be interesting...
