Caro Emerald is the perfect genre for a jukebox !

Totally sounds like "jukebox music" to me

oops, missed that.....ammmmmmm....to be honest....... I don't know !

I incidentally bought a number of L42 7"es at the store where I also picked up the Caro Emerald single, one of them was Love Meeting Love which is pretty rare, although it was the Polydor re-issue and not the Elite original....but I didn't buy Lessons in Love for sure. I might have it upstairs somewhere in my collection I'd have to check.... ;D

My friends....

I have decided that this nice Jukebox must leave.

The fact is that......well......it's just standing there.....it just doesn't get used that much anymore......if at all.

And since I'd love to see it go to a good home....

So....what are the good and the bad ?

Good: it works....mostly, it's in pretty nice shape and is set on freeplay
Bad: it just really needs a complete overhaul. You should either bring it to a good jukebox restore shop to have it given a complete overhaul, or take all the time and mechanical skills (which I lack) to do it yourself.
I DID CHECK ALLLLLLL the caps in the machine with my ESR meter and each and every single one of them are in PERFECT condition. Do not let anyone tell you you need to replace these !!! They are 2 brands, Sprague and Siemens which are both top-notch and still great after 40+ years...what WILL need replacement or at least cleaning is the pots....as long as you don't touch anything it sounds fine, but when you fiddle with the amp settings f.i. you hear they are scratchy.
Also bad: the "see through" striping on the top left glass....I already scratched it away and have the see-through colored vinyl for it but....it still needs to be done. OR find a replacement glass....but I have never come across the right one.
Also bad: it sometimes just stops playing. When you then enter a new song it starts again with the playlists it was already programmed with....not a biggy.
Oh and 1 bass speaker is not working, don't know if it's the speaker itself or something in the amp or wiring, but.....in reality...it already sounds fine now :)

Another remark: I replaced the two fluorescent tube transformers by two VERY cheap chinese one's. They work great and (most important) are very silent ,but the visual quality was....uhmmmm, well I never trusted them to be on without me being around, but then again, who leaves a jukebox on when he's not around ? I will include the original (heavy) transformers so you can go original if you want but they produce a pretty damn loud and annoying hmmmmmmm all the time.

Another reason for me selling this is that it is my plan to put an arcade game in it's spot. I want a game inside my home. This will make me play it...and maybe even work on it ;)

The machine can go for the price I paid for it...350 Euro.

Oh and.....you have to pick it up here. And bring at least TWO guys with you who can do some heavy lifting.....this machines ways a ton....

Thanks buddy, yeah it's the most beautiful closed jukebox IMHO...but sometimes you just have to let stuff go .....I think it will have to go to Marktplaats....I'm probably also to honest about it ;)

Is it still available? I maybe want to store it as a backup for my own bandshell. Got my bandshell playing again but I also realized that in the future some parts might be hard to come by.
