Yes, that is the very start of all my restorations, getting the dust and dirt out of the inside. Nothing worse than having to work in/with a dirty cab. I even get out the full harness and wash it. I don't drop it in a bucket of water, but I use kitchen paper and glassex, spray glassex on the kitchen paper and then run it along every wire. Yes every individual wire. Where possible I move the ty-raps a little bit to get between every wire. I do the outside of the connectors the same way. Never let glasses (or compatible cheaper stuff) run into the connectors though...
After all the sanding etc. I had to redo the removal of dust of course...
Anyway, I think it looks great to have a clean inside and clean and "fresh colored" wire harness.
I have a little problem: The power switch on top is defective, will need a new one. I powered the machine up by bypassing the switch temporarily...
