ps: I am not an expert but I'll try to do a scan of the artwork astrowars to benefit everyone

with your experience you could do can be the finishing touch, when it is scanned...

did you do the scan ? and is it like this panel ? :

because that looks totally different than the one your friend did.

anyway, just let me know what you like  ;)

Lets continue with the template that i miss.
The "Vanguard Mini" Setup.

I "marked" the existing holes in my paper template by carefully pushing the edges..

Then i used a knive to open the holes..

Lets put some buttons to check it.
They have a little distance between eachother, so that looks good..  ::)

Then i measured the distance between the holes and by that calculated the exact center of the holes..

You may ask yourself; why did he not just measure the distance without the paper on the wood  ???
I can tell you why, that is because now i have a physical reference to see if the holes match the graphics approximately  ;)

And i think they do  :P

Hello  Etienne,

Unfortunately I bought the cabinet without astrowars cpo, a butcher with a steel plate and holes no matter how ...
I know my cpo's not like the original, I asked 4 button because I have a pcb 60 / 1 arcade classic for this cabinet.
I think do the scan from side art sunday.

if you want to do something more beautiful with 4 buttons, I trust you  ;D

ps: the picture we see that the screen was not the right way when I bought the cabinet,

First of all a big  :spaceace: for our hungarian Zacc collector to measure and specify and later verify again all the measurements that i discussed with him in emails over the last day.

Not only that, he also pulled apart his Dodgem CPO and supercobra CPO and scanned it for me.

Now here is my plan, as Astrowars is the same cabinet as Dodgem and Galaxia, it also uses the same CPO setup.....

I stitched together the Dodgem scans and created an AI file with the dimentions that bela specified.

and here is the result :

My idea if you agree Blanbek, is to use this template and squeeze the custom graphics in there.

Then you have a plexi that has the original zacc shape for this cabinet.

Quote
for astrowars the size of the wood is 16cm x 60cm.

This is also perfect since the plexi is 14cm x 57cm

Let me know what you think  ;)

I am happy you agree, i have a little weak for zacc's and i know its not an original setup you want / need, but this have still its authentic look  ;)

Same goes for my second zacc which i wanted to create a "mini vanguard" setup for. that is also not original in this cab.

Okay, let me adjust your PDF to this template, and i will post the results when its done, then if nessecary, we can still do some adjustments.
I will use the measurements for button distances that you specified, since you will make a new wooden panel anyway, so i dont need to look for the existing holes in the wood

When this is finished, i need to do the same trick for the Supercobra since that is also another size then the dodgem and CK

It is nice to see the cp scanned and stitched together, I love the arts of Dodgem, especially the bezel with that boy on the left buying a ticket.

Unfortunately there is no pcb in the cab, the monitor was replaced by a Tv and MAME is also not available for this game. :-\
Sorry for offtopic Etienne. :D

thats true, i also thought the controls did not work, but are you looking at the right or the left car ?

i thought at first i was controlling the left car, but it is the right car that you use  ;)
