The 2nd connector pins look really OK with the bare eye, nice and shiny but you can clearly see there are plenty of "rust" spots on them....

I'll remove one or two pins to have a look on them and make some macro pictures too.

Here's a picture where one of the pins clearly has been heating up a lot:

It's great to save stuff....although I'm sure it wouldn't harm to keep using the original connector (but replace the pins of course !!!) I did find exactly the right one in my boxes of spare parts. Used but in fine condition...

I ended up buying them (+ some connectors) from parts4pinball but on the DLF topic Laszo mentioned that they are available from Conrad.

Don't forget to re place the pins on the board otherwise you will have to replace the connectors again.

Or clean them with waterproof sandpaper, but i guess replacing is faster / better  :D

Removed the pin that showed the burn spot. The pin actually looks fine !
But the connector didn't seem to like the heat.....look on the inside, nice burn-spot !

By the way, these are not the one's with the extra "sides" on the pin (trifurcon) so they can carry less amps. I will sure replace them with the trifurcon one's !

I made a video of replacing the Molex connector, will upload it tomorrow.

Tested the caps on the soundboard, all OK, but the two on the main PCB.....WAY too high ESR value for this cap !

So quickly replaced it with a good quality 105 degr. one...Gottlieb was nice and made several solder islands for C25....however for the same cap at C27 they didn't....o wel...just some legs visible...I don't mind.

....and let's measure again. Yes that's better !

Maybe someone with a poor condition overlay would swap the whole panel over with you, then you could use the new one and the original one would also be saved. It does look too nice to destroy.

Yeah that idea crossed my mind too and I wouldn't mind that. But I haven't decided yet. As always (small) pictures on a screen make it look better than it really is, I'll take some close-up shots if I have some time.

In the mean time.....let's have a look at the cab....

The top....needs some good cleaning at least...maybe new vinyl or paint....don't know what it is yet :)

In the red you see that the power switch is "missing". In reality the underside of the switch is still there but it is defective. (same switch as on my Ms.Pac).

On the second pic in the red oval you see how they "bridged" the power switch profesionally.....

You also see how they professionally hacked in a Jamma connector....
