Back to the 5th of august 2007.

This is it  8)  8)  8)  André (aka Level 42) came this sunday from Neederland to my place in Belgium ... in order to see the Nuno's Lair  8)

...more than 320km driven ... Wooww ... Congrats  :o  :o  :o  You're the perfect 'Arcade Lifestyle' exemple  :D

He came with a friend, Lesley  :)

Ok the pictures now  :wink:

Let's start with the masterpiece... wanna play on a working Computer Space  :roll:  :wink:



As you can see, the computer space is not in the Nuno's Lair... but still in the living room  :)  It's a real please to see it every day, believe me  :o



Andre plays a long time on it... I'm sure Lesley is thinking  "What a strange game ???"  :lol:  :lol:



Because the Nuno's Lair is full ... most of my latest games are ... inside my house  :oops:

Unfortunately, the Guitar Freaks is not playable yet, so let's go into the Lair  8)

First game played : Xevious  :arrow:



Level42 is well know for his *famous* Galaxian serial 815 (check all the story here)

...so he quickly jumps on the Galaxian  :arrow:



He's a Pac Man fan too, of course  :P



Food, drink, games... this Taito cocktail is perfect ...



Space Invaders part II  8)



An other masterpiece of the GameRoom : Namco's Starblade :



Star Wars Trilogy Arcade... Andre vs a tie fighter :

Welcome to the Fantasy Zone... get ready for Space Harrier  :P





Lesley is very close to finish Starblade ... how many credits to reach that level ?  :roll:  :wink:



Andre recently got a Star Wars cockpit cab'... so he tries mine to compare of course  8)





Mine is configured to play also Empire Strikes back  :arrow:



Games are waiting to be played ... back in the good time of the 80's :wink:   :arrow:





How will be the best Galaxian player today ? Level42 vs Darth Nuno  :P



We also played togeter on a great game : Virtua Tennis on the Mame/Dreamcast cab  :)

Rolling Thunder  :P ^



What a great day... a perfect arcade day ... nice people ... good food (I hope you like it  :wink:  ) ... arcade chat ... FANTASTIC  :o



Hope to see you very soon... for the Nuno's Lair V2 opening day !!!

Hey Bruno,

Ha, the driving was VERY well worth it !!!

Of course for seeing Nuno's lair for real in the first time, and playing all these fabulous games, but even more important, to meet and talk with a fellow arcade fanatic !  :D  :D

You made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed every minute of it, time seemed to pass WAY too quickly, I have a feeling I only played half of the games and most of them to short to give a good try ;)  Don't worry: I'LL BE BACK  ;) ;)

Nice pictures, although there are more with me on it than I can handle I guess :D
I didn't realize that the Star Wars Cockpit was so realistic ! Looks like I'm dive bombing an At-At there :D :D

Of course, Bruno beat me at Galaxian....but hey, this one's emulated, it's not the real thing ;) ;) ;)

Of course, you're more than welcome for a return visit, but I'm afraid my Gameroom is still only  a dream in my head....Cabs are scattered around and some still need resotration.....anyway, if you want to come over or in the neighborhood, just let me know !

...impossible to visit the Nuno's Lair without trying it. That is the main condition to enter the Lair  :P  :P  :P   :lol:   :wink:

It actually bugged me all the way home:

I hardly gave it a fair try.  In my memory it was just a couple of seconds....

Maybe partially because I was afraid to look even worse than on the Galaxian ;)

Then again: Another great reason to return to the Lair one day :D :D

very nice !!!!!!!!!!!!! always good to have lil arcade party like that...

so level 42, what do you think about star wars runing with a pc ???

i really think that vector games are not to bad with pc, especially if running on vga monitor  :wink:

Asteroids, will be probably the only one that will look bad on pc, thoose shooting dots are only great on real vector ....

what about the star wars tri. with that hudge projection screen ???

Hey Bruno, just noted: Nederland is with one e, so not Neederland ;)

About SW on a PC...well it's not bad. The control felt pretty much the same as the real thing. But for the monitor.... sorry but there is nothing that matches a real vector IMHO. I guess you gotta see the it to really know the difference...

The brightness and contrast is incomparable with anything else....

But hey, I was so extremely lucky to find an intact SW Cockpit.....it's already a major feat to find an empty cab...

The Star Wars Tri was FABULOUS !!! I loved it instantly. Had never played it before :D It's really emerging and I love all the different levels....fantastic cab !!
So was the Starblade !!!

Any news about the parts order for Bob Roberts ? Please let me know :D
