[Road Trip] - Cosmic Zero Hour
« on: May 09, 2011, 03:47:55 PM »

Okay, time for another (short) road trip story. A couple of weeks ago there was a German wall machine for sale at marktplaats. On first sight it seemed to be another fake ad, but i decided to give the seller a call nevertheless. After communicating with 3 different people i finally spoke to the guy who owns the machine and we made a deal.  ;D

The machine was located in Groningen, about 2 hours driving from my home.

No need for a big van this time, let's use something smaller.  ;D

The usual road trip stuff.

And off we go.

I won't bother you guys with lame freeway photo's like the one below.

So after 1.5 hours driving i reach the city of Groningen.

It's really nice weather today, lot's of people are enjoying the park.

And after 2 hours driving i enter the street where the cab is located.

It's a sun tanning studio owned by the seller.

He's isn't there at the moment so i "enjoy" the inside of his place.  ;)

After 15 minutes waiting the owner (who just got a new bird) showed up and took me to the living section of his studio.

I didn't take any pictures inside so after a short talk i loaded the machine in the back and started driving home.

And here it is: a Cosmic Zero Hour Wall Machine.

There is a nice 3d effect below the monitor, it isn't really visible on this photo.

As you can see the cab is quite deep.

The inside of the machine.

And the back, where you can excess the monitor

The monitor is in good condition, very bright colors. Too bad the machine is equipped with a Terra Cresta pcb.

Time to celebrate and play the machine with a couple of friends.  ;D

You should have grabbed that Betty Boop, it would fit nicely in your gameroom... NOT!
Nice addition to your collection, anyway!
I enjoyed playing Terra Cresta back in the days but haven't played it for ages, should try it again in MAME just tor refresh my memories.
...and of course  :spaceace: for Al Green on a sunny roadtrip!

nice catch, somehow those wall machines are pretty cool and help you fill up space where others would normally put beers signs or similar stuff :P
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

That was one of the main reasons i bought it. It fits perfectly in a corner of my game room which is too small for a full cab.  ;D

Love it ! Look how easy it fits in that not too big car.....

If I turn 60 I will trade in all my cabs for those wall machines ;)

Cool banner Bruno, thanks!

And if i decide to use any emulation it will definitely be mame. Would kinda suck not to be able to play the original game! And i just sold my 60in1 cabinet.

Offer 60 eur for that pcb at Woa, it will be much cheaper than the whole mame stuff if he accepts it and you will have an ORIGINAL machine.! ;)
I'm waiting for your +1 marks, comeon guys! ;D ;D
