HP Scanjet 4670 urgent help request !

I had bought a HP Scanjet 4670 scanner (the famous see-through scanner we all have become to love) but when I went to pick it up there was only a very short wire coming out of it with what looks like a PS/2 plug on it (the kind that used to be with keyboards and mice on older PC's).

No other cabling or power supply was available. So, could I connect it through a PS/2 to USB cable ??

I left the scanner at the seller's because I don't want to buy something I won't be able to connect but I can still pick it up today so any (fast) info much appreciated (yes I will also Google but I know some of you own a scanner like this...)

Found the manual on the HP site and it needs both a power supply and a special "T" cable to make it go to USB and the power supply. Those are probably hard to find/expensive, so unless the seller can find this stuff I won't buy this one. Shame really because it was at an office and had hardly ever been used....

greetings from barcelona my friends, you are right, there is a combi cable that has USB and the powerplug

that goes to the scanner..

if its not present, better leave the scanner at the seller.. because i think its not a cheap cable..

Exactly like I already thought. Mailed them that I won't take it unless they find the cable & PS.

What did you guys pay for it ? There's one that is complete on marktplaats now but he's asking 75 Euro which is totally nuts IMHO...

etienne told me not to pay more than 25 bucks, but i'm not sure if you'll be able to get one for that money. i didn't care, i paid around 40 for mine (plus shipping)!

Mmm, I've found several "fake" or original Power Supplies for it but then I still need that special cable....If I could find what's what on that PS/2 like connector I guess I could hack it...

i was already thinking it was not cheap..

when i am back , i can "beep" the cable so you can create your own cable..

the transformer is a simple adapter 12V/1250mA (i gave one to Arcadegek for his 4670..)

the price remembers me of a recent event that i have with HP, i had a cheap server (dl120) which had a broken mainboard, the price of a spare was 550,-
the complete server was 650,-  :o
