So yes, the 'G' day is set the 24th of November  Cool

Main objective : bring back all the Galaxian Theater parts in the same location.

Yeah, I know the date is very close, but the decision has been made only few days ago... weather going bad, temperature goes down, sunset very early... so it must be done quick! But If you want to join the UGSF team that day, drop me a pm.

I have just read again the road trip, at the time where Burt and Bruno went to pick it up.
it seems that many pieces weren't there when we put all the element together inside the v3 lair.
Ground ? Roof ? wires ?

So here we are, 5 years later, with a new trilogy!  Cool

EPISODE 4 - Before The Gate

OK guys, the big 'reunion' day was set to the 24/11/12, but I started a part of the job last week.
Why? Just because some parts required to move other 'non arcade related' parts before to be moved themselves, and I didn't want to waste too much time with such 'additional work' when the helpers/volunteers will be here. Of course, it concerns only parts I have here in my home (Remember, I've parts at three different locations : my house, my mom's house, and my dad's house). But when I say 'inside my house', I should precise 'everywhere in my house/land'!  Tongue To be precise, parts are located :

- in my attic
- in my office
- inside the shed in my garden
- inside the small 'garden room', under my game room V2  Cool

So yeah, today the job is to move out as much as possible stuff from the attic/office.
I'll be helped by Sam, already in original trilogy casting... remember in 2007, he was the keeper of some huge parts inside his garage  Roll Eyes Grin ...  arrow

(by the way, my Pole Position is still inside his garage today ...oppps  roll eyes oppps)

(he wasn't happy when I came back that night with all that stuff to put inside his garage...)

So you can understand we won't be able to move 'big parts', because we'll be only two of us today!

Enough blabla... Saturday, the 17th of November 2012

Let's see what we can get out from the attic...

Well, a lot of things to move before having access the the Galaxian3 parts...

...and in the other part of the attic, I don't even have space enough to take an overall picture! Damn it!  arrow

Now see all the stuff behind me in my office!!!   shock  arrow

Of course, we won't move these three 'racks/boxes' today, remember we are only two guys today (although we were only two guys 5 years ago, to move up these three racks inside the office...)! So the idea is to remove all the fragile parts (LD players & Audio sound amps) from this rack :

Ok, historical moment... the first GT6 part to officially enter the V  Cheesy  arrow

We are randomly moving out parts from the office/attic... no real stress today ... it's just a preview of the job we will do next week, with an entire 'UGSF Team'  Grin

Here we have a box that includes wires if I remember well...yes, it's wires... written on the box ('cables' in French)...

The huge BOSE speaker bass box ...

Big, but not heavy part to move out from the attic to the 1st floor...

...and from the 1st floor to the ground floor...

Parts of the roof  arrow

It's time for a break... powered by Dr Pepper of course  Wink

More stuff 'in transit' ...

Some parts are really too dusty, and need  to be cleaned before entering the *brand new* V game room.  arrow

Here... remember that picture in 2007  Roll Eyes  arrow

Here's the same part, 5 years l8ter  Grin  arrow

Ok, let's continue to bring parts inside the V :

As you can see, the new carpet is 'protected'.

stay tuned...

Sam, did I already asked you to wipe your feet each time you're entering the V3?  Roll Eyes Tongue  arrow

The Famous Galaxian≥ marquee now inside the V≥! Magical moment for me!  Kiss  arrow

The two original SONY projectors to be cleaned, before entering the Lair (the first projector already in the V3 is the *spare* one) :

And here they are, after a preliminary cleanup...

Back on the attic... a lot of stuff (mostly TV) to move away before accessing the Galaxian parts  roll eyes ...

...it looks better now...

...parts 'in transit'...

I'm not sure what Sam is thinking at this point Grin  arrow

OK, this piece is easier to move out, Sam!  Cheesy  arrow

...filling slowly the new lair...

OK, except the small parts, we will stop to move out big parts from the Attic for now...

Here's the last big item for today :

No more day light? not a problem!  arrow

Let's see what's inside the lair for now...

Not to bad, for a short 'after noon' of work...

But this is 'nothing' comparing to the next week end to come... stay tuned!  Cool

Ground ? Roof ? wires ?

Ground : still located in the small 'garden room' under the V1 (three parts I'll move at the very end of the rebuild stage)
Wires : inside the box moved last week with Sam (see below)  Wink
Roof : the original & only roof for a GT6 is the set of 6 'wiring black metal' parts. When I got the GT-6, I didn't got the 'home made' roof made by the operator. I'll do something better...  Wink

Would that not make the Galaxian Theater 'underground'? Huh? Shocked

Impressive as always, I'm really looking forward to seeing it be built again!

You have a lot of work coming your way, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a lot of fun.

Btw, it could be interesting, were the projector out of shape, to change them for more recent projectors. I'm saying this because sourcing tubes can be extremely hard now (and expensive) when new projectors have great picture quality and aren't expensive. The weight difference could also be a big plus!
