Got the holy grail of LED handhelds

Package from the USA.....

The holy grail of LED hand helds!
It's named a mouth full:
Tandy Stadium: DELUXE 2-Player Baseball

The second player can get a controller from the back and play pitcher!

Guess it haven't been use, it looks like new. Box was a little worn.

For me it is. Together with the more common Bowlatronic, these pieces are the coolest from the pre VFD/LCD-era.

Yes, but what is cool about it? Is it the special technique? The gameplay? the color scheme? It's rarity? I'm just curious what you like about it. Why is it the holy grail?

Why the game is so cool?

  • It's one of the last LED games, sold next to the first VFD games
  • The first VFD games were small, where LED's can be put in much larger toys. This one uses the shape to great extend.
  • The LED games have very simple programming. By giving a second player human brain influence on the game, it becomes much harder
  • It is rare. In the condition I got it in it is even rarer. Often parts are broken or missing.
  • It is plastic shaping to the max. The detailing is awesome. Bright colours, nice buttons with embossed symbols, the remote control for player 2
  • It is made in Japan!!! Forget chinese crap, Japanese knew how to make toys. You can feel the quality of Japanese plants in the seventies/eighties.

How can someone NUKE led-games ????  ::) ::)

LCD games can have LCD rot
VFD games can have either worn out phosphors, be cooked by wrong voltage/polarity (LED games were mostly 9V brick only), or have a broken display from shaking or falling.
LED games can stand 9G and their displays don't age. How do you get those broken?
