He says he has paypal, but he wants me to pay, and then you have no buyer protection. As it is something that is rare, I want to be sure if it is not fake.

If it smells fishy it´s probably fish... better to be safe (still have the money but no "insert what you intend to buy) than sorry (no money and no *goodie*)
