time to dig up an old thread (of mine)! why? because i've secretly begun working on my nintendo games. currently i have six of them: donkey kong, donkey kong jr, donkey kong 3, mario bros conversion cab (which is going to become a popeye eventually), mario bros widebody and space firebird. i'll be working on them in pairs of two, starting with donkey kong and donkey kong jr.
we've had the discussion about the cabinet colors before (and i've a-l-m-o-s-t made up my mind), but i wanted to bring this topic up again, because an arcade friend of mine (thx dennis

) has created some pretty cool models of the nintendo models and i've asked him whether he could make two donkey kong models with a revised color scheme for me - which he did. let me present you the results!
first up, the two donkey kongs with their original color scheme

here are the two donkey kongs with their revised color scheme

i love how the colors of the marquee, the bezel and the control panel blend in with the colors of the cabs AND i also love how the sideart suddenly seem to pop out much more! what do you think?
up next, donkey kong 3! we all know that dk3 only came as a conversion kit, so operators could either put it in an orange, a blue or a red cabinet. basically the same goes for mario bros as a conversion kit, i don't know whether the widebody version of the game also came in three different colors or not. no matter what, here's a picture of dk3 and mario bros (conversion) in all three variations!

i'm pretty sure i'll be doing dk and jr with the revised color scheme, therefore dk3
HAS TO BE in the red cabinet - and how cool those three look next to each other

but what do you think about mario bros - blue, orange or red? and what do you think about the donkey kongs now that you've seen the model pictures?
