Another busy arcade day
« on: March 08, 2011, 04:13:03 PM »
As I expected the van from Ully today before noon, I rushed to the office early in the morning, simulated some work and came back home around 10 o'clock. The driver called me, that he will arrive around 11, so I had some time to take care of my arcade related jobs.
I started with the Hyper Olympic. If you remember, Ully sent me a nice coindoor, but it's about 8mm wider than the original, so I had to saw off that piece.
Prepared for the operation

Removed the coindoor and the locking mechanism, ready for action

Ully also sent me some decor strips to protect the fresh cut surface

Fits perfect

During the unload of the van, our postman came with a package

Thanks to Steve(Ataritoobin) the Defender stick arrived from the States.
Many thanks Steve, it couldn't have happened without you! ;)
It was time to continue the Hyper Olympic project.
I installed back the coindoor and the lock

I also had to drill some new holes for the screws of the coindoor, so I tried out my brand new arcade lighting system ;D

It was not a schoolgirl's dream to fit that door back to the cab, but finally I was succeed ;D

I focused to the new glasses then, the Pac & Paint and the Starspalsh really deserved these to shine in their old glory ;D

It was a really great day, thanks to Ully and all of you who let this happen. ;D ;D ;D ;D

speaking of which, don't you just love arcade days? nice work on the hyper olympics, i know this wasn't going a task you've been looking forward to, but you eventually came around and succeeded - nicely done!

Looking great Bela !

good to see that the bezels are where they belong.

but please, make your next project a Starsplash CP resto, this hacked up one screams that you remove at least 1 joystick  :D

That cpo is not fixed, just put it there for the picture to hide that ugly metal plate.
This cpo have a lot of extra holes, I will have to find an original one. ::)
