OK, I just sent him a mail with an update of the order with 3 more Coin Door plates.

He's not always answering quickly (sometime he is, sometimes not), I'll keep you posted. I bought his very last Galaxian CPO for the upright....I hope it's the same that you got.

I guess I am going to have to bring the Coin  door plates to Belgium personaly ;) ;) ;)

There's a Xevious being offered here ....I have no space :( !!!

I'm PM-ing you my mail adress on the BYOAC forum so we can keep some more personal contact through mail...

^^

Got a package from USA...   what's this

Yeah  :P  It's a package from Fred "ArcadeFever"... Some US sellers don't want to ship to Europe... so I ask the sellers to send him the items, and he send me back the stuff in Belgium... Thanks thanks thanks Fred  :o  :o  :o

Great packaging  :o

It's not a repro marquee, but an original one  :o   there is some scratch on it, but it is in very good condition regarding his age ( 27 years old... )  :P

Ok, now here's the original upper/lower header retainer... full of rust  :?  :

... and the coins door :

I'm removing everything on it... full of rust, and it's not the right color for a Pac Man cab'

I asked to a professional to sand all the stuff ( 20€ for the work )... her's the result :

Ok, I manually sand the marquee retainers...

Ready to paint... 'Primer' first ...

...and two layers of black/mate paint  ...beware ! fresh paint  8)

One of the two 'original' bulb is dead... I prefere to put 2 *brand* new 40W bulbs

It's time to put the marquee + the two retainers on the cab' :

...another view...

The marquee looks very nice isn't it ? :o

Opsss... There is still some area to wash  :?

OK, I'm using soap to remover the worst spots, but I'm also using this :

...looks better huh :P

...I really like this one, from the top  :P

...the end is near  8)

Arghhh... I can't wait to play my first game on it...

...soon... very soon  8)

Hey Bruno,

Will you be replacing the CP with a new one ? There are reproduction panels that are meant for this kind of thing available. Or will you restore the old one ?

Fred, could you do me a favor of forwarding me a package as well ? It's a manual I got from Ebay, same problem like Bruno has, seller doesn't want to ship outside US....

I can Paypal cost etc.

Thanks !   If anyone has a very poor quality Galaxian left over......I would LOVE to do a conversion like Bruno is doing :) !!! It's totaly beautiful !

Thx Igor  :)

Ok, let's finish the coin doors.

The two parts of it :

...for both, I apply 'Primer' paint first...

...on both side of course ...

Next, I'll apply two layers of  'black satin' paint  :

...on both side of course ...

...fresh paint...

Done ! Now let's clean all the parts of the coins door... here's the original status :

...rust  :?  ...

After  :o  :

Don't forget the small detail

Let's put all the items together

On location  :o  :

Looking great....what's that game with the little ghosts ??? ;) ;) ;) ;)

I also got the same bezel on my Galaxian. Do we all agree that this is plexi ? I am wondering how to remove the scratches.

OK, let's connect the original speaker to the pcb :

...I need to put an audio amp between the pcb and the speaker... so i'm building a 'jack' connector, like this :

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've made a mistake        The PCB was ON, and ... I dunno why... but a huge noise, like a gun, and... no more sound from the pcb !!!

Here's why there is no more sound  :x  :

  a hole in the LA4705    This chip is an 15W 2-channel BTL AF Power Amplifer...

Fortunately, the game still works, but of course... no sound !

Ok, one week later, I get a couple of brand new LA4705 chips  :)

This Namco collection pcb is a 'modern' board, it has 2 layers of track on it. SO it'll be very difficult (for me) to remove the chip   :?

...SO I ask to my bros' to do the job (he's tehnician in electronics)

...a delicate job on such 'recent' board  8)

Done  :)

...and guess what ? Sounds are back  :P  YYeeeehhhhhhaaawww  :o

...got a new package from twobits  :o

Here's a *brand* new control panel + a repro CP overlay under Namco Licence + few twobits goodies : ballpoint, stickers, calandar...

Perfect control panel...

...but I need the wood part for fixing the buttons and hold-down brackets. So I'll use the one from my personal stock of various arcade items  :)

...of course it needs some adapation to fit the Pac Man specs :

To fix that wood part on the metal panel, I'll use original skrews from the old panel :

...ok, let's remove the rust with sand paper like this :

...and as always : Primer first...

...then balck satin, and here's the result :

StaY TUneD

Now, let's apply the CP overlay :

... done  :)

...some holes to do for the skrews...

...done...

unfortunately, I can't use the Galaxian push buttons without huge modification  :?  So I'll use two new switch push buttons. I just have to build this before :

... oh by the way, I also put a *brand* new 4 ways joystick, especially build to fit a Pac Man panel  :P

Now all the wiring is done :

I place all the material quickly inside...

I adapt the jamma wiring to fit that original connector, so I'll be able to quickly remove the control panel for maintenance by exemple :

... and now... power on...   :P  :P  :P

... LET'S PLAY  :P  :P  :P

YYEEEEHHHHHAAAAAWWWWW !!!!!

Now have a look at this VIDEO HERE :

...the end is near  :o  :o  :o
