-Road Trip- Atari Missile Command "cabaret"
« on: September 06, 2010, 08:24:21 PM »

Now I will present my current roadtrip once here. The track is short for my standards, 350 km away. (x2)

overview

I started at 6 am, of course, in the dark. While it was quickly clear, but unfortunately it was also foggy:

very very foggy...

the sun rises, and behold my favorite villa in the addams family style shines in the sunlight in the town of Fürstenberg.

here it goes to the village Himmelpfort, the German home of Santa Claus. Children loves it ... and I also. ;D ho ho ho ;D

meanwhile arrived in Berlin, an old vw beetle cabriolet front of us.

Unfortunately, many construction sites on the limitless autobahn. ...and windmills ...

Here we cross the big river ELBE

a side view of ELBE at 150 km/h

The direction is right.  :D

left of the picture you can see the former border between East Germany and West Germany in Marienborn.

clock time by 10 am, we arrived in braunschweig, and voila, here is the object of desire:
Missile Command "Cabaret".

Unfortunately, I was shocked, because it lacks three conebuttons and the back wall.
a small price negotiation because of the missing parts and behold, I can with more money home. a good deal. but the cab has to be restored.

and now put it into the car. wow, so many space... ;D ;D ;D

a stop on the way home in marienborn, the memorial of the division of germany:

the names of many cities in sachsen-anhalt are often similar at the end.  :o ;D

back in my homeland, here is the view of the Tollensesee, one of the many lakes here in

and here in my hometown "Neubrandenburg", the city with the four gates.

3:30 pm, back home. after 9hours and 30 minutes and 720 km. the road trip is over.

+1 !

Shame you weren't around a bit sooner, I sold my MC cabaret some time ago which was nearly completely restored...

Also, please put the game name in the subject of the first posting so we can search for it etc...

Thanks :)

this is really sad, a restored mc cabaret was a better deal then this, but now its not to change.  :(

Now i search for a another similar cabaret cab, the "asteroids".

the game name i have put in the subject. ;)

congrats on that catch and thx for sharing the roadtrip with us. i hadn't heard of that memorial "marienborn" before, but it looks like a place well worth a visit when you're in the area.

i have played the missile command cabaret at andre's place (when he still had it), but somehow i had the feeling that i am too tall for that cabinet. i had to "go down" a little bit to see the entire screen PLUS i think the trackball is too small - they should have used the bowling ball from the full upright. nevertheless, a nice catch. missile command is a great great game, hopefully my replacement opto boards will be arriving soon so that i can enjoy it again!
all i need is ... PONG - and a select few others: TOUCH ME, DRAGON'S LAIR, JOUST, ROBOTRON, MR DO, SAN FRANCISCO RUSH THE ROCK!!!

Mmm, how do you suppose they would have mounted that in a small CP like that ?  ;D ;D

The trackball itself is probably the best Atari (2.25") built though. The all-metal set-up is simply awesome....but I can see your point about the bigger size TB.

you have right Ully, the "big brother" was the better solution to play the game and it was very beautiful. but i had not enough space in my gameroom, and so was that the "cabaret" cab the best solution.

the graphic from sticker i have from a member of german arcade forum. it shows 2 similar cabs, has anybody knows which cab this was?
a tip: it has to do with this topic...

Totally love the Arcade '82 artwork on your wheel cover !!!!

Do you have the graphics file for it ? Would be cool to have some stickers printed like it...because I don't have an extra wheel outside of my car....always wanted a nice, decent sticker on the car. This is perfect !
