Yes it's a real flat button, I often miss it when I try to hit!

You can't be serious. IMHO Joysticks had to be (and STILL have to be) 8 or 4 or maybe 2 way, but not stupid analogue "handles".
I hated EVERYTHING about that joystick. The worst thing was that they were hard wired SOOOOO it was impossible for other manufacturers to offers something decent....

The manufacturer is Orion, it's a very old hungarian company founded in 1913 and it has immortal products like this TV.

In fact Philips did release versions of the G7000 with detachable controllers. They used the Atari style 9 pin D-Sub connector but I was told they are not compatible with Atari style joysticks. I have such a console but never tested it with other sticks, I don't find the original controlers too bad
