You can't win a match if you don't want to score a goal, just wait for the final penalties, yeah it's a shame...........

Spain plays the game with so much calmness. It's almost scary

Deutschland, Deutschland, alles ist vorbei

Sorry but LOL !  ;D ;D ;D

Still, I would have preferred the Germans too...

It was great fun to watch it with some people that are actually whole-heartedly for one of the teams....however, the game was pretty boring.

But guys, have I been watching a different match than you and some other commentators (Van der Gijp f.i.) ??

What I saw was that Spain TRIED to play but _constantly_ failed in the end face (the attack). I'm not saying they don't have individual qualities, but it barely showed. Still, the Germans didn't have a single chance tonight, which says a lot, but I just _KNOW_ that we are going to win....

We've got more individual quality that can win a game like this.

And so, I'm going to take off my red shirt (sorry I had to blend in ;) ) ! :)

their midfielders just failed. Alonso shots went wide like 3 times. Xavi and Iniesta aren't goalscorers at all. They are used to supply for Eto'o or Messi or Villa but they play positionally and tactically so strong. It amazes me every time I see it. Especially Iniesta is so calm on the field

Indeed we have more quality in the attack but their midfield is just awesome. And they have one the best goalkeepers in the world.
I think Spain's weak point is their defense, right and left wing back and Puyol can have a bad day once in a while.

this year I bought a cheap DVB-T USB receiver for my laptop that works just great to watch the matches :)

One big problem with digital TV, and especially DVB-T is the grass they play on. If the camera's steady, the image is perfect, but when moving MPEG messes up very very BAD. Analog was way better for football.
There is a benefit though. It seems the African fields are SO BAD if you look very very close, but thanks to MPEG you can hardly see the holes in the fields.

Well previously we had to work with a VCR as a receiver and a VERY weak antenna singal. We have no cable on the club...
So the picture was VERY snowy during previous world and euro-cups.....

That's the reason why I bought the DVB-T stick.  We're not crying over seeing the individual grass polls.....

But you're right, at home I have digital cable and it looks MUCH better than DVB-T. I'd never want that at home. But in this situation, it is ideal.

So.....in the mean time the whole world labels Spain as the favorit, including a lot of "experts" over here in Holland. Those are the same "experts" that said that we didn't have a chance against Brazil. I really like this, the more the Spanish think they're unbeatable, the better....we will see next sunday !

So, I'm getting ready to dress up the car a bit for a tour through Germany !  ;D ;D ;D

Too bad, but Spain was by far the better team. And we made a lot of very stupid faults, with yellow cards and one red card as a result.  :'(

Congratulations to Spain, you were the better of us.

Congrats to Spain, though Holland did not get the corner at the end, which lead to the Spanish Goal.....  :-[
