Video Game museum - Paris La défense
« on: April 25, 2010, 10:04:43 AM »

A small topic on this if you're gonna come around this place.

To see what is inside, a small virtual trip into the exposition (skip the french interview) :

There 2 interesting parts, the console and the computer parts.
So as the reporter say in his conclusion :
in fact it's more an "hardware" museum with some true rare pieces (ie : brown box) than a "video game" museum.

Addtional picture of opening event in  Mr Riddler's Blog : www.invaded.fr/2010/04/21/pre-ouverture-musee-du-jeu-video/

imho : Aim of the project is great, but is it worth the price to pay to see that ?

OMG, I do not see a single original arcade cab there.....

Even worse:

Look again what cabinet that may have been......anyone remember my Asterock ?

Look at the profile of the cab, look at the CP:
I am sure that this was a Sidam cab. Ruined by mame-ing it and for Christ sakes they put a LCD in it !

And playing Pac Man on a candy should be forbidden by law.

Sorry, nice initiative, but this smells like "I am a hip 20+ yuppy and I love everything retro" instead of a serious try for a museum.
Great collection of consoles though. But what good are they turned off and in glass cabinets ?

I'd much rather go to a retro fair IMHO.

At least some crew in Pac-Man t-shirts look good :)
For a nice collection, you should have visited Play Belgium.
