Sorry bruno, but what is Amiga LDG version ?

For the PC transfert, I need to dig a bit in my old tools of that time.
I already did that using DOS emu on the amiga 500, with disk splitting of the original 880K sized amiga floppy,
saved on a 720Ko regular PC floppy,
maked that procedure twice to get the entire amiga floppy in two parts
and finally join those parts with a poor C++ prog and save it to restore the amiga disk as pc file.

Challenging, but by far not impossible

Note  : easier way for such transfert welcome

Okay, if you have the floppies, I can certainly make the PC files...

cheers,

Bruno,

I'm just sick with this monitor.
all the pinout i've found on the net are all different and none of them work.
Sorry, I should be lame.

I've just plugged my 48in1 successfully.
Unfortunately, colours are ugly with blurry effects...

Now, I'm using this 1084S monitor for testing each advance mame setup I'm doing for each renovation. So I'm using a home made adapter DB15VGA to this monitor.
Let me check if I can found back the home-made adapter I've done for testing the Space Invaders part II board, and so I'll give you the right pinout used of it  8)

Bruno, if it hasn't been done, I can make an adf image of that floppy for you in 5 minutes. I have some real Amigas (500, 2000, 4000, CD32..) and a Catweasel floppy controller in my PC, which reads Amiga floppies.  :)

Thanks for your reply Bruno, but I take decided this morning to give another try.
As I've seen so far, either I'm not able to read pin out schematics or they are wrong.

Despite this, after wiring every single color, I did it successfully :

Pixel pitch on those screens are gorgeous, even if I noticed some geometry problem on the sides of the picture.

Here is the pin out I finally used :

On male connector witch to be plugged on the female of the monitor :

1. Gnd
2. -
3. Red
4. Green
5. Blue
6. -
7. Sync
8. -
9. -

Seems to be similar to this related pin out :  :ghost:

Hello All,
This is my very first post on these forums and I am glad to be here! OK, thanks to DarthNuno and funkycochise, I have brought out my 1084S-D1 monitor and I am about to make a VGA-DB9 cable for it! (actually I don't have experience with soldering, so I am paying someone to make this cable for me)

The question that I have is this:

Why is there a difference (discrepancy) between DarthNuno 's pin layout:

And funkycochise's:

On male connector witch to be plugged on the female of the monitor :

1. Gnd
2. -
3. Red
4. Green
5. Blue
6. -
7. Sync
8. -
9. -

Also these sites, report the same layout as funkycochise's (but different from DarthNuno 's)

http://www.gamesx.com/hwb/co_C1084dd.html
http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=24075
http://www.epanorama.net/circuits/vga2tv/rgb_pinouts.html

All of them report that pins 3, 4 and 5 are RED, GREEN and BLUE respectively.

Question: Which one is correct then? (DarthNuno 's diagram or funkycochise's and others)??? ??? ???

Please let me know as soon as possible, so I can tell this guy to make the correct cable for me!
:!: :!: :!:
Thanks!

Thanks for your response. Do you know which pin layout (for 9pin) is the correct one then? (DarthNuno's or the others)

I think the issue may be differing pinouts between "TTL" (aka RGBI, I being Intensity like on C128, IBM CGA) and "Analogue" RGB (what is used on arcade games, Amiga 500, etc.).

I had an early NEC multisync that accepted different pinouts on the same 9-pin DIN, but had a switch to change between TTL RGB and Analog RGB.

Thanks, but still there should be a way for me to determine which one is correct. I have a 1084S-D1 (which is North American NTSC and has 9pin RGB output)

It looks like this:

Of course, i would say that my pinout is the correct one :)
That said, my best advice, is to wire colour after colour,
Using a pcb you know well.
So you will validate each colours, one after another.

Good luck !

Thank you funkycochise so much for your message! Well the thing is, someone else is making this cable for me, and my main objective to connect my PC (Windows XP) to 1084S-D1 and use MAME on it. I don't have a real arcade PCB board, so I am only trying to connect my modern computer (using 15Khz) to 1084S-D1.

Would you kindly let me know exactly how many wires (pins) you used? Seems like you have used only 5 totalGRND, R,G,B, and Sync (I am not sure which Sunc is this, V or H)

This guys is charging me $25 for making the cable and I need to make sure it is correct, or else my money is gone! (I know I should learn how to solder, but I could not wait to see my 1084S-D1 in action!)

Would you please let me know!?
