Irish Star Wars cabs, was there ever an upright ?
« on: January 31, 2010, 06:18:38 PM »
Seeing so "many" Star Wars cockpits "popping up" in the UK and mainland Europe lately I was thinking about something:
Has anybody ever seen a Star Wars upright that was built in Ireland ?

It seems like there are _many_ more cockpits in Europe compared to uprights. About everyone who own's a SW over here has a cockpit and not an upright. The only upright I've seen so far over here is owned by my friend Luc, but that one was imported from the US (or Canada).

I'm beginning to think that there never were any Irish SW uprights....

So, if anyone has seen an Irish SW upright, raise your hand !

I've mainly seen cockpits but I definitely remember playing an upright in the UK back in the day. No idea where it originated from though.

Ah cool, there's the answer !

Still it seems like more cockpits survived here then uprights...or maybe it was already more popular here in the first place ?

I think there were alot of imports that added to the numbers. The SW cockpit I just sold was Irish, but the other two cockpits I have are both USA models. All in all I believe there were many more Irish cockpits than any that were imported.

The two USA ones I have are the only two I have ever had. I have had three Irish ones over the years.
