VANGUARD sound problems
« on: May 06, 2015, 05:41:22 PM »
I'm closing the Zaccaria Vanguard restoration but I have 2 problems on the sound board

1-------------------------------------
I have a continuous white noise in the background. All sounds seems to be ok, music, shots, explosion, ... but this noise is always there.
I can see there isn't a real classic noise generator and I think everything is generated by the two 76477 chips.
I have the SMD version and I haven't the right tools to remove them so if you have any other idea please tell

2-------------------------------------
No voice at all, now...
the first times I plugged the board I heard something then las time the voice was quite corrupted and now nothing.
Suggestions?
Is there  a source for the 2 chips HD38882 and HD38880?

The first problem is not a problem, it is normal. ;)
I might have a non-working spare pcb, I'll check those chips.
