Shinobi B-type board sound issue
« on: December 18, 2012, 07:10:56 PM »
I've got a Shinobi Type B board, picture works perfectly, but the sound is dead.

I found out I need to do the following:

SHINOBI - Decryption with Battery Z80
-------------------------------------

Replace EPR-11372 with "EPR11287.a7" at position A7 on ROM board.
EPROM checksum = $003ED1F5
Replace Battery NEC type Z80 (MC-8123B) with standard Z80B processor.

I have the rom image, now I'm looking for a standard Z80B processor.

My question is: are alle Z80B chips the same so I can easily put a new one in the socket? The legs of my NEC chip are thin and some of the ones I googles seem to have thicker ones (like eproms)

A Z80B = Z80B.

The pins should all be about the same size...got a pic ?

I replaced the Z80 and also the 11287 rom, now everything works just fine.

Although not difficult to fix, this is my first fixed board, I'm really happy with it.
