FS/FT: Bally/Sega Galaxy Ranger laser disc game project [SOLD]
« on: January 08, 2010, 10:56:10 AM »
This is a Galaxy Ranger game. Not something you see too often.

It's a project that I'm getting rid of as I'm always pushing it to the back of the queue, not being as passionate about laser disc games as I am about others.

The monitor has a fault, the flyback is producing nice glowing flashes through the enclosure. Someone seems to have done some work on the chassis but I'd consider it dead.

As the monitor doesn't work, I don't know if the game is ok or not, I really haven't looked into it. As far as I know it won't boot unless the laser disc player is properly connected, which isn't the case. But everything looks in very good state. As above, in doubt so sold as non-working.

The laserdisc player is included (Pioneer LDV1000) and does start up if you short the proper pins on the connector at the back.
The Sega disc is also included and is in good nick.

The centronics-like cable that goes from the player to the PCB was missing, I hacked one up with parts I had around but I've no idea if it's ok or not. As before, I haven't really put any time at all into this one. I'll throw it in anyway.

As you can see from the photos, the cabinet is the German Bally-Wulff licensed one. Coin acceptors are in Belgian Francs.

There's slight damage to the base but globally it's in really good condition.

I'm open to offers or trades (including projects), just PM me. Cab is in Brussels, Belgium.

Mmmm, if the explosions would have been a bit bigger and longer, I'd actually consider it  ;D ;D ;D

Anyway, wow, VERY rare indeed. Sometimes I think I've seen all games but I just keep learning :)
Shame it has much less exciting artwork then the US version...but a Bally-Wulf version is even more rare :D

Yes but the marquee is not the original Bally-Wuulf version, it has been replaced with the Bally-Midway one.

True, I forgot to mention that.
I found small pieces of glass in the bottom of the cabinet which I assume to be what was left of the original.

Contrary to the side-art, the US vs German marquees are practically the same though, it's just a small logo change.
