Greetings from Australia!

I see what you have here... what a great find! I love your progress reports.
I have just recently restored a original Japanese Tatsumi TX-1 3 screen sit down cab here in Australia. Just thought i might say hello & am happy to offer any assistance i can with your project.
Cheers!  Grin

Welcome and that is one beautiful machine!  Nice work  Space Ace

Very cool!  It unfortunately appears to be missing the parts that actually allow the players to interact with it  Embarrassed

Nope, the manual I have is all in Japanese for the Namco Rally-X cocktail, just like the one in your picture (envious by the way  lol).

Are there any model/part numbers on any of the chassis PCB?  Out of curiosity, what brand is the tube?
4  General Chat / Technical Area / Re: What monitor is this? Namco Rally-X Coctail on: November 04, 2016, 04:49:14 AM
The manual lists two possible monitors:

- M-BB14 (Namco part number: 84021000)
- CM-D14R (Namco part number: 84041000)

It doesn't look much like the Toei to me, I'm not sure what the other model's brand is - Mitsubishi? Matsushita?

Hope that helps!

I've got a Namco Rally-X cocktail manual at home, let me check tonight and report back.

Below is the marquee if you don't already have that image (looks like the aspect ratio needs to be tweaked a little).  I have a tiny color photo of a Sky Skipper upright from a Japanese trade magazine but will have to scrounge around on some hard drives to find it, but would be at least some sort of reference for the bezel/CP colors.

IIRC, the guys in the US who did the Parker Bros. conversion had access to a cocktail and hated the game so much they returned it to the distributor ASAP!

EDIT: found the interview - note the views of the programmer don't necessarily reflect mine Wink  Looks like I misremembered the returning to distributor part!

"Steve Kranish: I canít help you with any of these Ė except Sky Skipper. That was a truly insipid arcade game; in fact it was so bad that I was the only one in the office who was willing to play it (I am not a gamer, remember?) so I became the local expert and could answer questions for whoever got stuck writing the port. The Marketing Bozos had agreed to sell it in hopes that doing so would provide access to future games, which I donít think ever happened.

The Sky Skipper that we had in the office was a table model, rather than an upright arcade game. The monitor was under a glass top. I think the idea was that one had to be drinking to be willing to pay money to play such a stupid game, and the table top provided someplace to put your drink while you played. This does not explain my willingness to play it; I do not drink."

14  General Chat / Arcade Lifestyle / Re: Does anyone know of any Taito EMs? on: October 14, 2014, 10:31:35 PM
There was a Taito basketball EM machine (missing dome I think) and a coin drop type EM game on US ebay within the past couple of years.

I want to say the basketball machine went for ~$350 USD.  Some of their EMs in the US were re-branded as "Crown" products.
