No worries!  :)

Wow, that's so nice and crisp   :o 8) ! Is that one of those "breakfast cereal contest winner" machines?

Super Zaxxon is such a difficult game.  There's still a dedicated Super Zaxxon at a local donut shop that has the bottom part of the cabinet sawed off  :'(  I oughtta take pictures of that some time.

wow that's a good point, was SZ part of that cereal content? If so it may very well be. It came from an old ladies house that said they've had it since '84

IIRC, I think it was Pengo, Star Trek and Super Zaxxon.

EDIT: Found a pic of the box.  Wow they gave away 500 arcade games? :o

no, this is not the usual "which game originally came in which cabinet thread"

I saw pictures of a dedicated Japanese Donkey Kong Junior (still on location!) on a Japanese website and the cabinet was indeed blue (and had alternate artwork, just like the flyer).  So it looks like the artwork was designed with the blue in mind.  A collector friend of mine actually restored a DK Jr. to the light blue and it looks great!

It could be argued that the original DK artwork was designed with the red Radarscope cabinets in mind as that was what they were initially intended to convert for the U.S. market.  I imagine since Sky Skipper was released around the same time, they may have already had the blue cabinets built/in production in Japan.

Great looking machine, Muerto!  Love the artwork on the Namco/Bertolini cabs.

You should be able to carefully wet sand the front of the perspex bezel and marquee with various grits working your way up to a nice polish to get rid of the scratches, though to avoid "dips" you'll probably want to do the entire front surface.  Then you can polish it up with something like Novus 2.

That would work pretty well for the marquee and bezel, though depending how bad the cig burn is it'll probably only minimize that.

I did this for some Taito Space Invaders and Nintendo DK parts and they turned out nice.  I'm sure there's a good tutorial of this somewhere.

Hope that helps!  :)

Thanks for the posts!  I've always wondered what the game play was like in Star-V.

That's probably like finding a needle in a stack of hay....

But you never know and should always try ! Good luck !!!

Thanks :) !

I'll probably wind up putting another B/W monitor in there (with hopefully no modifications to the cabinet) until I can find the correct chassis.
