All the rest / Re: Record player type advice needed

I can't really recommend any tables, but I can recommend the Audio Technica 440MLA cart/stylus.

It really handles inner groove distortion well (that phenomenon where records tend to sound noisier/distorted towards the label).

It's not perhaps as "musical" as other carts, but for the price range it's very forgiving for surface noise.

I also can't stress how important proper cart alignment is !   :)  Makes a huge difference in how good records sound.

Good luck in your search!

Also, my table is a MusicHall mmf-5, but it's belt driven and I think some Audiophiles will scoff at MusicHall stuff ;)

Awesome work!   :)

Glad the joystick made it okay.

That CPO might clean up pretty nicely with some "Magic Erasers" and some elbow grease ! :)

Sort of OT, Etienne, but does the HP 4670 you used do a good job scanning through glass?  I tried scanning a couple of bezels with mine and can't seem to get it to "focus" through the thickness of the glass/plexi :(  It's been great for sideart, etc.  :)

Yes, i know what you mean, i have the same "through" glass, but the scans have enough resolution for handtracing in Illustrator, wich is the more precise way to do it if you ask me
more work, true, and some parts is better with auto trace, but to use it "under" the vector while tracing / placing parts in your vector its more than suitable

Thanks  :)

Someone actually has an entire Operation Wolf gun up for sale over there right now: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=165284

EDIT: I should add I know nothing about the seller :D

If you still need one here's an auction with 5 Taito Optical Boards, supposedly from Operation Wolf (I don't recall what the optical board looked like in mine when I had one )

Taito Grand Champion cockpit, non working €120.

The guy is also selling a hang on bootleg and some pinballs.

Nice one  8)  The U.S. built cockpits used the upright cab with a canopy on the back

There's some Atari concept artwork out there for a Japanese Taito built Star Wars using a cab similar to this (their "slim cockpit" as used on Space Cruiser).  Wonder if those were ever built?

Look at how that original Midway Pac Man joystick is mounted !!! "Look Ma, no carriage bolts !"  HAH, not even the original Puckman or Pac Man or Ms.Pac Man had that....

Looks fantastic!  Nice touch with the joystick mounting.  8)

Actually the genuine Namco Puckman machine has no visible carriage bolts on the CP.  It's mounted to a piece of metal under the plexi bezel.  Looks sleek  8)

(Of course the dust washer is on the wrong side of the CP in my example picture  :P)
