Nice!  I've seen a few Namco PP cockpits in Japan that had the rear discarded and had a shifter hacked into the right hand area, but nothing that looked official.  I had wondered if at some point they considered using the same panels on an upright cab with the shifter in the space on the right.

From a functional standpoint, it allows you access to the bolts that hold the CP to the cabinet.

Namco actually made a true "half cockpit" model that the player sits at with a blue CP, with the right hand space molded shut, and a shifter box mounted under to the left.

Outrun deluxe

Board is not working !

Nope :/
I called the guy some days ago.
Don't want to sell at lower price.
Board not working so he doesn't know if cab is moving while working.

Isn't that also a pic grabbed from the internet?  Seems I've seen that picture in various places before, e.g.: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Out_Run

Some OutRun Deluxe machines (ones only shipped to "right hand shifting" countries?) have mounting brackets on both sides so that the shifter can be installed on either side, and a blank plate installed on the side not in use.

There was a Taito basketball EM machine (missing dome I think) and a coin drop type EM game on US ebay within the past couple of years.

I want to say the basketball machine went for ~$350 USD.  Some of their EMs in the US were re-branded as "Crown" products.

I believe there are pots somewhere on the PCBs that control the scale of the objects.  Perhaps it's something simple like one of those pots being dirty?

I couldn't find a manual online, but I'd refer to the manual/schematics.

Here's an adjustment sheet: http://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-videogames/T/Turbo%20Adjustments.pdf
And the schematics: http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Arcade_Manuals_and_Schematics/Turbo%20Schematics.pdf

The on/off switch is inside the cabinet on the board with the transformer/fuses.  Why?  No idea

Interesting, does your cab have a plate on the front of the cabinet, to the left, right under the CP?

It'll say "NAMCO LIMITED" and has a few kanji characters in red.

If not, then I think at some point by 1980 or so they went away from the numbering system above and just went to these plates with sequential numbers, regardless of the model.

I might be mistaken, but IIRC, none of the cabs I have have the serial number like that on the rear of the cab!

Also, is there a Namco paper tag on the inside rear of the coin door?  It'll have the production date/inspection date/ or some such stamped on it in Japanese format.

My ride-on Hang-On has "tape switches" inside both footrests.  Not all ROM sets support them though (e.g. the upright version doesn't show the foot switch inputs on the test menu).

I think I replied to this thread on one of these forums, but I'd be in for 2 pairs.

The start buttons on my Galaga, the clear portion of the buttons are two pieces; the top is a clear cap (which appears to be what you sanded/polished/restored), with the text/screened portion underneath on the main body.  I assume so, but is your Galaxian button the same construction?  The "cap" is missing on my 2P start button..I'll add pics later to more clearly express what I mean  ;D
